About St. Lawrence High School
37 years of dedicated service to society, guiding 2,500 students with academic excellence, discipline, and moral values in West Bangalore.
From 20 Students to 2,500 Minds
Shreyas Educational Society was founded in 1988, and St. Lawrence High School & PU College opened its doors under it in 1989. We began with twenty children. 37 years later, we are a family of 2,500 students, supported by 120 trained teaching faculty and 30 non-teaching staff.
In those 37 years, more than 4,000 students have passed out of St. Lawrence with flying colours. We hold a 100% pass result in SSLC and 90% in PUC. Every year, 60–70 students clear the SSLC examination with Distinction, and our students consistently secure state ranks between 2nd and 20th — year after year, not once in a while. The management honours each distinction holder with a memento, a cash prize and a certificate, for both SSLC and PUC.
That growth has never been the point in itself. What matters to us is that a child who joins in LKG can move all the way through to SSLC and PU College in one place, taught by people who know them, in an environment where academics, character and confidence are treated as equally important.

The driving force behind St. Lawrence High School's continuous growth, discipline, and commitment to educational quality.
Mr. A. R. Rangaswamy
Founder & Principal Secretary
Qualifications: MA, BSc, BEd
Mr. A. R. Rangaswamy is the Founder and Principal Secretary of Shreyas Educational Society, under which St. Lawrence High School & PU College operates. He completed his MA, BSc and BEd, and served as a respected teacher at Vokkaligara Sangha, Kottegepalya until 2005.
From 2006 to the present day he has worked full-time as Principal Secretary and Founder of the school. His dedication to the institution is what keeps it running smoothly year after year.
For our teachers, staff and students alike, he is a role model for discipline and for the incomparable hard work he practises in daily life.
Mrs. M. Ramadevi
Co-Founder & Head Mistress
Qualifications: BA, BEd
Mrs. M. Ramadevi is the other founder of Shreyas Educational Society and has served as Head Mistress of St. Lawrence High School since its earliest days. She completed her BA and BEd.
She is a pillar of our school who needs no formal introduction — a well known and distinguished figure in the community, highly respected and known for her strong leadership.
Even today she motivates, guides and supervises the work of our teachers and students, setting daily standards and goals for children in academics, sports, discipline and leadership.
Celebrating Together, Every Year
National festivals and cultural celebrations — Krishna Janmashtami, Kannada Rajyotsava, Deepavali, Christmas and more — are woven through our calendar every year, not treated as an afterthought.
Our youngest students take part from the very first year, dressing up, decorating the campus and learning the stories behind each celebration alongside their regular classroom lessons.
Our Educational Philosophy
Our ideology is simple — to give quality education. What that looks like in practice comes down to four things we hold to every single day.
Discipline, Practised Not Preached
Our founder's daily practice of discipline and hard work sets the standard the whole institution follows. Children learn it by seeing it.
Character Alongside Curriculum
Our teachers work tirelessly to instil basic etiquette, good manners, good habits, ethics, gratitude, and kindness — not as a separate subject, but through every school day.
Progress Measured Honestly
Challenging programmes, surprise tests, oral exams, monthly tests, semester exams and regular Parent-Teacher Meetings keep every child's progress visible.
Learning Beyond the Textbook
Smart classes, activity rooms, field trips, Abacus and Vedic Maths, Olympiads, Scouts and karate give each child more than one way to find what they are good at.
A Record We Are Proud Of
Results matter to parents, and they matter to us. These are the numbers we have sustained over 37 years.
SSLC pass result, sustained year after year
PUC pass result
Students pass SSLC with Distinction every year
State ranks secured consistently, every year
Students who have passed out with flying colours
Distinction Holders Are Honoured Every Year
Every year, 60–70 of our students clear SSLC with Distinction, and consistently, every single year, our students secure state ranks between 2nd and 20th. The management awards each distinction holder a memento, a cash prize and a certificate — for both SSLC and PU College students — because effort of that order deserves to be recognised publicly.

We firmly believe that positive communication between parents and teachers goes a long way in improving the effectiveness of education. A child does best when home and school are saying the same things.
That is why monthly tests, semester examinations and Parent-Teacher Meetings are built into our calendar rather than arranged only when something goes wrong — and why parents are welcome to visit the campus and speak to us.
We thank our beloved parents for their active participation in school activities.
