School admissions in Bengaluru begin long before the new academic year starts in June. Many parents start looking in the months before, visiting schools, comparing options and gathering documents. If you are considering St. Lawrence for 2027–28, this guide sets out exactly how admission works, from the first enquiry to a confirmed seat.

Which year is open

Admissions are open for the 2027–28 academic year, across the Nursery Wing, the Primary Wing and the High School. If you are planning further ahead than that, it is still worth making an enquiry, but seats are confirmed for 2027–28 only.

Step 1: Send an enquiry

Start with the admission enquiry form on our admission process page. It asks for a few details: the parent’s name, phone number, email, the academic year, and the wing your child would join (Nursery, Primary or High School). You can also call or WhatsApp the school if you prefer to speak to someone first.

Step 2: Visit the campus

Our admissions team will call you to arrange a campus visit at 95/8, Magadi Main Road, Kamakshipalya. This is a friendly conversation, not a test. You can meet our Head Mistress, see the classrooms and ask your questions. Bring your child if you can: seeing the school together makes the decision easier for both of you.

Questions worth asking on the visit: how the day is structured for your child’s age, how progress is shared with parents, and what activities run alongside lessons.

Step 3: Document verification

Once you decide to go ahead, you submit the documents for verification. Keep these ready:

  • The student’s birth certificate (copy)
  • The student’s Aadhaar card (copy)
  • Parent ID proof and address proof (copies)
  • 4 recent passport-size photographs
  • The previous school’s marks card or report, where applicable
  • The original Transfer Certificate, for Grade 2 and above

Our admission documents checklist explains what each document is, and how to get one that is missing.

Step 4: Confirm the seat

The final step is registration and fee payment, which secures your child’s seat for the academic year.

Age criteria for each wing

Ages are counted as on 1 June of the admission year, so for 2027–28 that means 1 June 2027:

  • Montessori: 3+ years
  • Nursery / LKG: 4+ years
  • Primary Wing, Grade 1: 6+ years
  • High School: Grades 8 to 10 (SSLC, State Board), with Transfer Certificate and marks card

If your child’s birthday falls close to the cut-off, our guide to the right starting age for Nursery, LKG and UKG walks through the options.

Joining in the High School years

Students can join the High School wing directly in Grades 8 to 10, subject to verification of the Transfer Certificate and marks card from their previous school. After Grade 10, students can continue into St. Lawrence PU College on the same campus.

When to start

There is no advantage in leaving it late. Starting early gives you time to visit more than one school, gather documents without a rush, and make a decision you are comfortable with. A short enquiry now costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

When you are ready, the admission process page has the enquiry form, the full eligibility table and the school’s contact details. We look forward to welcoming you to the Kamakshipalya campus.
